2020 New Jersey Chapter 288 

A3979 introduces multiple measures protecting primary caretakers of children who are incarcerated in New Jersey state and county correctional facilities. Included are prohibitions on the solitary confinementor shackling of pregnant incarcerated people. This law was enacted on January 9, 2020.
