Louisiana Act No. 140 (HB 344)

2020 Louisiana Act No. 140  

HB 344 prohibits the use of solitary confinement in Louisiana state prisons for incarcerated people who are pregnant, up to 8 weeks post-medical release following a pregnancy, or are caring for a child in a penal or correctional institution. This law is in effect as of August 1, 2020.
